Janis Barsetti Gray and Richard Gray are the proprietors of Barsetti Vineyards. Gottardo Barsetti, Janis’ grandfather, emigrated to America in 1903 from the southern region of Switzerland and settled in Galt in 1912. Janis’ father and grandmother purchased the land where the vineyard is now in 1941.
Before the vineyard was planted in 1995, the property was used for farming and operations involving dairy, beef cattle, and crops. Wine label Barsetti Vineyards was established in 2001.
Before pursuing their passions, Janis and Richard both retired from Fortune 500 corporate jobs.
