Every summer for more than 50 years, the Lodi grapes cultivated in the Van Ruiten vineyards were harvested and transported to other wineries. The first types of the Van Ruiten Lodi Wines were produced in 1999 as the family decided to go into the winemaking industry. Along with the now-famous Van Ruiten Vineyards Old Vine Zinfandel and the exceptional Lodi grown Chardonnay, among the most notable and enduring first wines were a Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz blend that continues to be one of the family’s most popular today and is all served daily at the Lodi Wineries Tasting Room.
